BHFCU Staff Raises Over $13k in Q2

We believe in empowering our employees to make a difference in their communities. And we put that commitment into action through our longstanding support of the staff-led Community Action Team (C.A.T.) In the second quarter, BHFCU staff raised more than $13,300, making a significant impact on the charitable organizations they support.

From April through June, the CAT program focused on helping animals, supporting kids and families, and battling food insecurity. During this time, staff collected an impressive 1,931 items, comprised of more than 1,300 pet supplies and nearly 600 peanut butter and jellies, weighing in at more than 1,100 pounds worth! They also volunteered 81 hours of their time.

Their support extended to 27 organizations from Sioux Falls to Billings. These include 18 animal shelters, the Special Olympics of South Dakota, EmBe’s Dress for Success Sioux Falls, Make-A-Wish South Dakota & Montana, Emily’s Hope, Feeding South Dakota, the St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, Pierre Area Referral Services, and the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools.

“My favorite part about CAT is that we allow our employees to have a say in who we support and how we fundraise,” said Meghan Rose, Marketing Specialist. “This year, the program will benefit several new organizations our team members brought forth. The variety of non-profits we support helps ensure everyone has a project that resonates with them.”

During April and June, we partnered with nearly 30 businesses. The support from the community made these fundraising efforts even more successful. Highlights from the second quarter included a record-setting year for the annual Raising for Rescues Supply Drive, an on-site disc golf tournament, and our first annual PB & J Drive, which was fueled by a fierce inter-departmental competition.

Please join us in celebrating the charitable contributions of our staff. They live our mission to improve lives every day.
