How BHFCU Made a $479k Impact in 2025

Employees Live the Mission
We live by the credit union philosophy, people helping people, and our employees put it into action. Our Community Action Team (CAT) is led by employees, giving to the community organizations they’re passionate about. This year, we led four successful drives: Operation Hope, Raising for Rescues, Food for Good, and Delivering Joy. And we’re behind them 100%, literally. We matched their donations dollar-for-dollar last year.In 2025, CAT:
- Supported 51 organizations
- Collected an impressive 5,263 items
- Raised $57,300
Putting Students First
Amid our pillars of giving, education consistently ranks at the top, so we’re always looking for ways to support students. Among those efforts are two annual favorites, the VIBZ Scholarship and the School Support Drive. These application- and nomination-based programs ensure we support the development of future generations.In 2025, the School Support Drive:
- 322 classroom and school nominations
- Fulfilled 30 teacher wish lists with $11,900 of giving
- Supported 12 school improvement projects to the tune of $17,500
- Took a $15k chunk out of lunch debt
- Supported 20 first-year college students
- Awarded $20k in scholarships

- Spanned 25 communities across three states
- Supported 193 organizations

Remaining Active in Our Communities
Whether it’s leading a financial literacy class at a business partner, hosting a booth at a community event, or simply being present, we’re dedicated to helping our communities grow and thrive.In 2025, we:
- Hosted 12 community events
- Attended 17 festivals, trade shows, and job fairs
- Facilitated 144 educational sessions for 1,450 attendees in 11 communities
