Improving Lives in Our Communities
At Black Hills Federal Credit Union, our communities are at the heart of everything we do. People helping people is more than a philosophy to us. It’s how we show up for the places we call home!
From local nonprofits to community events, we’re committed to making a real impact through donations and sponsorships, and while they may seem similar, here’s how we define each:
DONATIONS
Good old-fashioned
giving to support a cause without
promotional expectations.
SPONSORSHIPS
Financial support with a touch of
promotion (think banners, shoutouts,
and logo placements).
Our Giving Guidelines
We’ve compiled a few guidelines to help you understand how we evaluate requests.
What We Love to Support
- Programs that benefit youth, education, veterans, and underserved populations (Yes, that includes furry friends!)
- Efforts that create real, tangible change in our communities
- Causes that resonate broadly with our members
What We're Unable to Support
While we wish we could say yes to every request, some areas fall outside of our giving focus:
- Operating or administrative costs
- Religious or political organizations and events
- Groups or activities that conflict with the Credit Union's values
- Individual sponsorships, such as sports teams, beauty pageants, or travel expenses
- Direct assistance to individuals or families
