CREDIT ANALYST

Location: Rapid City


Black Hills Federal Credit Union is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Credit Analyst. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  •  Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit;
  • Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit;
  • Evaluate records and recommend payment plans based on earnings, liquidity, payment history, and lifetime value of collateral;
  • Confer with business lenders and other business representatives to exchange credit information;
  • Complete loan applications, including loan proposal reviews, and submit to applicable departments and staff;
  • Generate reports from financial analysis software to evaluate customers’ financial status;
  • Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations;
  • Consult with business members to verify financial and credit transactions; and
  • Analyze financial data such as income growth, quality of management, and market share to determine expected profitability of loans.
Qualifications:
 

College education is preferred with a degree in business, finance, or accounting.The satisfactory completion of college level course work in, but not necessarily limited to, general business, finance, accounting, and marketing is acceptable.Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education. Experience in a business-related field is preferred.

FACILITIES SPECIALIST

Location: Rapid City
 

Black Hills Federal Credit Union is seeking a qualified candidate for a Full-time Facilities Specialist position. The person selected for this position will assist with maintenance on the buildings and grounds of all Black Hills Federal Credit Union locations. Sidewalk snow removal and grounds-cleanup included. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Location: Sioux Falls
 

Black Hills Federal Credit Union, is seeking an experienced candidate for a full-time Business Development Officer position in our Marketing Department. This position will be located in Sioux Falls. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
 
  • Make connections with businesses and individuals and build a personal relationship in order to grow business through referrals. Solicit new and expanding businesses in alignment with strategic goals. Conduct presentations as needed to explain the benefits of a business membership and the products/services available to businesses.
  • Assist in achieving deposit and loan growth based on strategic goals by leveraging personal and business sources, connecting appropriate employees/departments to new opportunities and following up to ensure connection has been made.
  • Identify and develop new and existing referral sources to develop successful relationships.
  • Represent the Credit Union in the community to build awareness to support MSC growth. Call on existing and prospective Members to maintain good working relationships, enhance Member retention, and discover additional ways to meet their needs. Leverage existing relationships to identify and engage with decision makers and executives.
  • Be actively involved in Chamber and Community organizations and events to build and enhance relationships and presence in the community. May include the need to work evening or weekend hours.
  • Maintain accurate records and contact management for good communication and follow up to contacts/Members.
  • Build effective relationships and collaborate with peers, managers and coworkers. Openly communicate, provide timely feedback, and share ideas and insights about market competition, challenges and opportunities.
  • Evaluate current product opportunities and sales efforts; provide feedback and recommend improvements to products and services to increase competitiveness and sales efforts.
  • Evaluate programs and initiatives, track results and provide feedback for future participation. Analyze financial results and advise accordingly.
Qualifications/Experience:
 
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing or business development;
  • Must have experience and be comfortable with public speaking and/or professional presentations;
  • Must have experience with event planning and/or trade shows;
  • Position requires creative thinking -- examples of creative ideas and/or materials are required;
  • Experience in business communications and examples of written work is required;
  • Background in, or strong understanding of financial products and services is desired;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, conflicting deadlines is required;

AGRICULTURAL LENDER

Location: Pierre


To better serve our members in Pierre region, we are seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time Agricultural Lender position. The position will primarily serve Hughes and Stanley Counties, in addition to other counties as necessary. The position will be based in the Pierre MSC. The primary function of this position will be to develop and manage agricultural loan accounts. This position reports directly to the Ag Loan Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing agricultural loan applications; verifying applications for completeness; conducting credit investigations; determining value and status of collateral (if any); establishing a signature limit (if applicable); and documenting agricultural loans as per Credit Union policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate agricultural lending by seeking potential clients. Effectively explain Credit Union products and services. Cross-sell products and services when appropriate.
  • Responsible for conducting loan monitoring activities which may consist of member farm inspections, collateral monitoring, repayment and extensions of loans, reviewing appraisals, preparing annual reviews and other associated tasks.
  • Work with the Collection Department to execute legal repossession of collateral securing a delinquent agriculture loan; maintain collateral while in Credit Union's possession; and negotiate the sale of collateral. Function as the Credit Union's representative while working with the Credit Union's attorney, small claims court, repossession companies, collection agencies, bankruptcy court, and Credit Union members.
Education/Experience:
 
  • College education is preferred with a degree in business, finance, or accounting. A minimum of 3 years’ agricultural lending experience is necessary.

MORTGAGE ORIGINATOR

Location: South Sioux Falls (Lincoln County)
 

Black Hills Federal Credit Union is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Mortgage Originator at our soon-to-be-opened South Sioux Falls Member Service Center. The primary focus of this position will be to originate first mortgage loans and to build and maintain relationships with outside parties, including but not limited to members, real estate agents, and builders.

This is an exempt position with a base salary + commission structure. Hours may be in excess of 40 and may include evenings and weekends. The majority of time will be spent outside the office.

Applicant must have a minimum of two years direct mortgage lending experience. Job requires four-year college level of language, math and reasoning skills.
