Staff Spotlight: The Fitness Instructor
At the intersection of empowerment and sweat-soaked classes, that’s where you’ll find fitness instructors. Learning & Performance Manager by day and fitness instructor in her free time, meet Rachel!Their encouragement to just have fun and not stress about making mistakes unlocked a new freedom for Rachel. The energetic and empowering activity was love at first class. So much so that her instructor suggested she pursue certification to teach classes. With that vote of confidence, Rachel’s journey as a fitness instructor began. Creating routines and encouraging participants became Rachel’s favorite part of teaching.“I’d always loved dancing, so I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give group classes a try,” Rachel shared. “As I walked in, I was nervous about learning the routines and potential judgment from others, but, to my surprise, I was welcomed by an incredibly supportive group of women.”
After a few years, scheduling changes made it difficult for her to continue teaching. After a brief stint with traditional gym workouts and weightlifting, she realized it wasn’t an environment in which she would thrive. That’s when she discovered Sol Vibe, a fitness studio focused on cycling, rowing, and heated HIIT, sculpt, and yoga classes.
Rachel immediately felt right at home in the motivating and supportive atmosphere. That will happen when everyone’s cheering you on! It quickly became her happy place. Having gotten into her groove at the studio, she decided to get back to leading classes. After completing specialized training in hot yoga sculpt and strength-based formats, Rachel joined the Sol Vibe team.“A few friends and I decided to try a class at Sol Vibe. We started with a cycling class, which I enjoyed, but then I experienced the hot room, and I was hooked,” Rachel explained. “That first class left me drenched in sweat and feeling more accomplished than ever.”

You can catch Rachel on Sundays at 7 am for Hot Yoga Sculpt (a combination of yoga, strength training, and cardio) and Mondays at 5:30 pm for Hot Strength HIIT (alternating between all-out effort with heavier weights and active recovery). Wondering what you can expect from a Rachel class? A 104-degree room, heated by a combination of infrared lights and piped-in humidity, upbeat music (90s throwbacks are always a favorite), movements that build strength, and positive reinforcement throughout! They turn the lights down, the music up, and focus on having a great workout. Now, if you’re thinking you could never, think again.
Thanks to Rachel powering through the initial insecurity, she’s found a community committed to challenging themselves and supporting each other. Her long-term goal is to complete her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training to expand her understanding of yoga philosophy and practice. Rachel’s advice to anyone considering teaching is to start with passion. Teaching fitness isn’t just about leading a good workout. It’s about creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated, and capable.“No matter your fitness level, there’s always a place for you in my class. Any instructor will offer modifications for beginners and ways to level up for seasoned athletes,” explained Rachel. “While group fitness classes can be intimidating, my goal is to help others find an exercise routine that they love.”
“Watching confidence grow, seeing people show up for themselves day after day, and witnessing the community encourage one another, that’s what fills my cup,” Rachel shared with a smile.
