People Helping People - September 2022

At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. In September, our team found ways to do positive things across South Dakota. Learn more below.

Special Olympics Eat-in
Our stomachs were full for a good cause earlier this month! We hosted an eat-in fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics South Dakota. All the delicious dishes whipped up by staff brought in $1,250 to be donated!

Sioux Falls Out of the Darkness Walk
BHFCU staff organized a group of family and friends to participate in the Sioux Falls Out of the Darkness Walk benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The walk provides an opportunity for remembrance, hope, and support.

Pierre American Heart Association Walk
Members of our Pierre team gathered to participate in the Central South Dakota Heart Walk benefiting the American Heart Association. The walk helped get hearts pumping, honored survivors, and raised money to save lives.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s
This month staff members raised money and participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. The walks raise awareness and funds for research, support, and care provided by the Alzheimer’s Association.

Serving Dinner at the Banquet
A group of 12 made up of BHFCU staff and family members served 340 people a complete, nutritious meal at The Banquet in Sioux Falls this month. Several are making it a habit signing up to volunteer more to help those who need it regularly.
