People Helping People - January 2022

At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. In January, our team found ways to do positive things across South Dakota. Learn more below.

Meals on Wheels Gingerbread Man Program
Each year we team up with Meals on Wheels to raise money for their Gingerbread Man Fundraiser. Our donation of $1,000 will help provide meals to local seniors in the comfort of their own homes.

MLK Day Food Drive
Through the efforts of staff and members, we collected 133 pounds of food and made a $300 donation in support of the MLK Day Food Drive! A big thanks to everyone who contributed and to the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology for putting on this drive benefiting Feeding South Dakota each year.

United Way of the Black Hills Donation
Through staff pledges, a corporate donation, and several Jeans Day fundraisers throughout the year, we recently contributed $14,550 to the United Way of the Black Hills. The donation is one of the many ways we fulfill our mission to improve lives. By partnering with the United Way, BHFCU is able to impact the lives of individuals and families in ways they truly need.

Tough Enough to Wear Pink Fundraiser
Our team looks forward to participating in the annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink Campaign each year! On Friday, January 21, many of our staff proudly wore pink in support of the cause. T-shirt purchases and other funds raised allowed us to donate nearly $1,500 benefiting the Monument Health John T Vucurevich Cancer Care Institute in Rapid City!
