People Helping People - April 2021
At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. This April, our team found ways to do positive things across South Dakota. Learn more below.
Wall Country Cupboard Donation
We're excited to share the Spring Food Drive in Wall raised $500 for the Country Cupboard! The Country Cupboard serves a large area around Wall, encompassing many communities. They rely on volunteers and donations to keep those in need fed.
Movers for Mom Clothing Drive
We are proud to be a 2021 drop-off location for Two Men and a Truck’s Movers for Moms program. The effort benefits EmBe and Dress for Success Sioux Falls, empowering women to achieve economic success. Through May 10, women’s professional wear, maternity wear, and accessories can be donated in the bins located at our Sioux Falls MSCs.
Readiatrics Book Drive
The 2021 Readiatrics Book Drive is on! Sponsored by the Department of Health, this book drive provides reading materials to kids in the Black Hills. We will be collecting new and gently used children's books in all of our Black Hills area locations through May 15.
Ardis Townsend Challenge
Throughout March and April, the Ardis Townsend Challenge raises money for Pierre Area Referral Service's (PARS) food pantry each year. BHFCU agreed to match 1% of all funds/pounds of food donated, making a total contribution of up to $500. We are excited to share our contribution in our next issue of Member News.
