BHFCU Gives Back - October 2024

At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. Learn more about the positive things our team accomplished in October.

Supporting Kids’ Health & Wellness
Our staff-led charitable giving program, the Community Action Team (CAT), focuses on supporting organizations that share common goals each month. In October, we centered our efforts on fundraising for organizations supporting kids’ health and wellness. Check out what we accomplished!

Who We Supported
This month, we supported Children’s Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Home Society, and the Autism Society of the Black Hills. BHFCU staff raised $3,500, which was divided among these important causes!

Slurping Soup for a Good Cause
Our annual soup and chili eat-in got competitive this year. BHFCU CEO Jerry Schmidt braved his way through sampling 12 different offerings. After carefully considering flavor, spice level, and ingredient ratios, he crowned the White Bean Chicken Chili and Chicken Gnocchi winners! Thanks to the generous lunchtime donations, we left the day with full stomachs and hearts.

Getting Spooky for Kids
Our staff got spooky, unique, and punny on Halloween as they competed in our annual Halloween Costume Contest. Our 20 individual and group entrants paid a fee to be considered for three sought-after trophies and major bragging rights. After the 161 votes were tallied, Winifred, Wayne’s World, and Taco Bell took the crowns!

Check back next month to see what our crew accomplished in November!
