BHFCU Gives Back - May 2024

At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. Learn more about the positive things our team accomplished in May.

Supporting Kids & Families
Our staff-led charitable giving program, the Community Action Team (CAT), focuses on supporting organizations that share common goals each month. In May, we focused on organizations that help kids and families. Check out what we accomplished!

Who We Supported
This month, we supported Special Olympics South Dakota, EmBe’s Dress for Success Sioux Falls, Make-A-Wish South Dakota & Montana, and Emily’s Hope. BHFCU staff raised $3,050, which was divided among the organizations!

A Race Made of Riddles
CAT co-chairs put on their riddle master hats, creating a race featuring six riddle-holders and seven challenging rhymes. This race challenged the mind, channeling the competitive nature of the Special Olympics while raising money for the cause.

Throwing a Disc to Fund a Wish
For the second year, the co-chairs developed an on-site disc golf course at our corporate location. Featuring five holes with multiple prizes on the line, dozens of staff members took part in the competition and lunch, raising nearly $300 for Make-A-Wish.

Movers for Moms Clothing Drive
We partnered with EmBe’s Dress for Success SiouxThree women hold shirts while standing around donation bin. Falls as a drop-off location for their annual Movers for Moms Clothing Drive. The drive collects women’s professional clothing to help set job seekers up for success. We’re proud to report that we collected hundreds of items.

Trivia at The Dive
The Sioux Falls crew partnered with The Dive to host a trivia night. Hopefully, the first of many, we raised $100 for Emily’s Hope together.

Donating Livesaving Units of Blood
We partnered with Vitalant for an on-site blood drive at our corporate location. Our 16 donors gave 16 lifesaving units of blood. We look forward to our continued partnership with them throughout the year!

Check back next month to see what our crew accomplished in June!
