BHFCU Gives Back - June 2024

At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. Learn more about the positive things our team accomplished in June.

Fighting Food Insecurity
Our staff-led charitable giving program, the Community Action Team (CAT), focuses on supporting organizations that share common goals each month. In June, we centered our efforts on helping organizations that fight food insecurity. Check out what we accomplished!

Who We Supported
This month, we supported Feeding South Dakota, the St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, Pierre Area Referral Services, and the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools. BHFCU staff raised $2,600, which was divided among the organizations!

Filling the Sandwiches of South Dakota Kids
We heard from several organizations that peanut butter and jelly were high-need items for their pantries. Our staff rose to the occasion, making an internal contest out of donating as many jars as possible. In the end, weTwo men and four women stand and sit around desk displaying peanut butter and jelly donations. collected nearly 600 peanut butter and jellies to fill the pantries of Feeding South Dakota and Pierre Area Referral Services.

Giving Time to Feed South Dakota
Co-chairs arranged five opportunities for staff to volunteer in Rapid City, Pierre, and Sioux Falls. Our crew spent 51 hours packing boxes in Feeding South Dakota warehouses, serving meals at the St. Francis House, and getting food into the hands of those who need it at Feeding South Dakota mobile distributions.

Check back next month to see what our crew accomplished in July!
