BHFCU Gives Back - January 2024

At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. Learn more about the positive things our team accomplished in January.

Helping the Unhoused
Each month, our staff-led charitable giving program, the Community Action Team (CAT), focuses on supporting organizations that share common goals. In January, we focused on supporting organizations that help the unhoused. Check out what we accomplished!

Who We Supported
This month, we supported the Cornerstone Rescue Mission and WAVI in Rapid City, the Banquet in Sioux Falls, and the Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center in Pierre. BHFCU staff raised $2,600, which was divided among the organizations!

Share the Warmth Blanket Drive
Our Western Market locations participated in a supply drive to support the needs of the Cornerstone Rescue Mission. We collected dozens of new or gently used blankets, twin sheets, and pillowcases for the unhoused.

MLK Day Food Drive Drop-Off Locations
We offer our lobby space as a drop-off location for the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology’s MLK Day Food Drive each year. The drive collects non-perishables to support Feeding South Dakota and the college’s on-campus food pantry.

Blood Drive with Vitalant
We partnered with Vitalant for an on-site blood drive at our corporate location. Our 17 donors provided 16 lifesaving units of blood. We look forward to partnering with them throughout the year!
