BHFCU Gives Back - February 2023
At BHFCU, our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve is as strong as ever. In February, our team found ways to do positive things across South Dakota. Learn more below.
Focusing on Health, Wellness, & Elder Care
In 2023, we are refocusing our staff-led charitable giving program, the Community Action Team (CAT.) Each month follows a theme with multiple organizations benefiting. In February, we focused on Health, Wellness, & Elder Care, benefiting the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute, the American Heart Association, Meals on Wheels Western South Dakota, and veterans and the elderly in our communities. Check out what we accomplished!
Spreading Love with Valentines
Employees got crafty this month and created 1,100 valentines for veterans and the elderly in the communities we serve.
Wearing Pink to Fight Cancer
We were Tough Enough to Wear Pink once again this year! 66 employees purchased t-shirts, with all proceeds going to the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute in Rapid City. In total, we donated $2,060!
Throwing Pies to Battle Heart Disease
For a second year, our Executive Leadership Team loaned us their faces for a good cause! Fundraising for the American Heart Association was incentivized by the opportunity to give two leaders a pie in the face. We raised $1,000 and thank DeeAnn and EJ for being such good sports.
Fundraising to Provide the Elderly with Nutritious Meals
Staff donated for the chance to win a prize package benefiting Meals on Wheels and their mission to provide nutritious meals for the elderly across western South Dakota. At the end of the month, we raised $1,000.
