Black Hills FCU Donates $20,000 to Relay For Life
Stepping up their commitment in the fight against cancer, Black Hills Federal Credit Union recently presented the American Cancer Society in South Dakota with a $20,000 donation to help provide treatment, recovery and support programs and services for local cancer patients.
Our contribution was part of a collaborative, donation-based loan program with the American Cancer Society in South Dakota. From June 12th to July 31st, we matched one percent of qualifying vehicle, RV, boat, and home loans secured at BHFCU with a donation, up to $20,000, to American Cancer Society Relay for Life events in South Dakota.
“As a long-time supporter of Relay For Life, this partnership was a unique opportunity for Black Hills Federal Credit Union’s members and communities to join us in further supporting the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission,” said Jarrod Reisner, chief financial officer at BHFCU.
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community based voluntary health organization, whose fundraising efforts help support groundbreaking cancer research, critical patient care services, cancer education and prevention initiatives, and more. Regionally, the organization holds numerous Relay For Life, fundraising and awareness events in South Dakota communities throughout the year.
“Everyone knows someone who has fought or been affected by this devastating disease,” Maxson said. “We are hopeful we can help more people receive the education needed for early detection through our donation.”
