We're a South Dakota credit union that steadfastly believes in the credit union motto, "people helping people," and we constantly seek opportunities to lift up our communities and neighbors. Our Community Action Team includes employees who selflessly dedicated time, money and resources to our worthy causes. Check out what's keeping us busy these days.

Current Projects

Raising for Rescues
Our employees will be collecting supplies and monetary donation for animal shelters and clinics in the communities we serve. 

Children's Miracle Network 
Our employees will be participating in Miracle Jeans Day, a nationwide credit union-sponsored fundraiser for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. All proceeds raised by BHFCU employees will go to the Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls. 

American Heart Association
Our employees will be raising funds for the American Heart Association. 

Share the Warmth
Our employees will be collecting blankets, scarves, hats, mittens, and other warm clothing as part of their annual Share the Warmth drive to benefit the Cornerstone Rescue Mission in Rapid City. 

Alzheimer's Association
Our employees will be raising fund and participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Sioux Falls on September 15. 

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 
Our employees will be raising fund and participating in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of Darkness Community Walk in Sioux Falls on September 22.

Shop at AmazonSmile and Amazon will make a donation to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund.

Jeans Days

Every Friday, our employees donate $2 each to a worthy cause for the opportunity to wear jeans. 


BHFCU Charitable Fund

The Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund was formed in 2010 with the mission of supporting charitable causes among our communities in South Dakota. Foremost within those causes is the BHFCU School Supply Drive.

The BHFCU School Supply Drive is part of The Charitable Fund’s effort to give all kids in our communities an equal opportunity to succeed in school.

The Charitable Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization and recognized as a tax exempt public charity by the IRS. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
