Our passion for community service is backed by the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) formed in 2010 to provide financial support for our work. To contribute to the fund or learn more, contact Heidi Bulman at 605.858.6155.

We're a South Dakota credit union that steadfastly believes in the credit union motto, "people helping people," and we constantly seek opportunities to lift up our communities and neighbors. Our Community Action Team includes employees who selflessly dedicated time, money and resources to our worthy causes. Check out what's keeping us busy these days.

Current Projects

Projects in November

Veterans Home Donation Drive
Our employee and members are collecting new boxers, briefs, socks, and t-shirts, as well as monetary contributions, for local veterans. Donate at any BHFCU location now through November 10. 

Troops Care Package Project
Our employees and members will be fundraising for our annual troops care package project. All funds raised will be used to purchase hygiene products, snacks, and games for South Dakota troops stationed overseas. 

Operation Black Hills Cabins
Employees and members plan to organize a fundraiser to benefit Operation Black Hills Cabins, which provides a therapeutic week-long respite to assist qualifying combat-injured veterans with their rehabilitaion from their traumatic and stressful experiences. 

Autism Society of the Black Hills
Employees and members plan to hold a fundraser to benefit the Autism Society of the Black Hills, a non-profit working to provide support and resources for families and others associated with an autistic, Asperger's or Pervasive development Disorder individual. 

United Blood Services
Employees are coordinating a blood drive for BHFCU with the United Blood Services. 

Shop at AmazonSmile and Amazon will make a donation to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund.

Jeans Days

Every Friday, our employees donate $2 each to a worthy cause for the opportunity to wear jeans. These are some of the organizations that have benefited from Jeans Days: Cornerstone Rescue Mission, Front Porch Coalition, Humane Society of the Black Hills, March of Dimes, Working Against Violence Inc., South Dakota Department of Health Offices, Wellspring, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Troops Care Packages, the Relay for Life - Rapid City, Feeding South Dakota, the Children's Miracle Network, the Pierre Area Referral Service BackPack Program, and the American Heart Association.

BHFCU Charitable Fund

The Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund was formed in 2010 with the mission of supporting charitable causes among our communities in South Dakota. Foremost within those causes is the BHFCU School Supply Drive.

The BHFCU School Supply Drive is part of The Charitable Fund’s effort to give all kids in our communities an equal opportunity to succeed in school.

The Charitable Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization and recognized as a tax exempt public charity by the IRS. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
