Black Hills FCU Breaks Ground on New Location in Downtown Rapid City
Black Hills Federal Credit Union officially broke ground on our new facility in downtown Rapid City’s East of 5th
corridor on Tuesday. Located at the corner of Main Street and 2nd
Street, we are constructing the new member service center to better serve the financial needs of our growing membership.
“As part of our mission to improve lives, BHFCU is dedicated to providing a world-class financial experience that supports our members’ evolving financial needs,” said Roger Heacock, President and CEO of BHFCU. “Although our existing downtown location has served us well for the last 31 years, we have outgrown many of its service capabilities. This project supports our long-term goal of revitalizing our facility to enhance services and expand technologies.”
At approximately 15,000 sq. feet, the new, two-story facility will be located on the north side of Main Street, across from our existing location in downtown Rapid City. It will feature a modernized teller area, convenient service solutions, spacious drive-up lanes, ample parking and more. Once completed, members will be able to easily access the full-service member service center from Omaha, Main, and various side streets.
According to Senior Vice President of Operations Jerry Schmidt, the smaller, more efficient facility will replace the existing downtown location, which will be sold. To gain further staffing efficiencies and expand member services, we plan to relocate many of the support services and back-office staff concentrated in the current downtown facility to our corporate office on North Plaza Drive.
Completion of the new location is scheduled for summer of 2018.
